The Feast of Mary Help of Christians
2019-06-13 (Thursday) Location : Saint Jude's Church Leader : Religious Education team Category : Academic
On 24th May, our school celebrated the Feast of Mary Help of Christians and the rite of acceptance into the order of catechumens in St. Jude's Church.
The Feast was celebrated by Fr. Antonio Leung, Prefect of Religious Education. In the rite of acceptance into the order of catechumens, nine students committed themselves to knowing Jesus and the Bible so as to learn to live a Christian life.
In the homily, Fr. Leung shared the "Greedy Dog" metaphor to explain most students neglected their gifted talents from God. He invited students to be aware of their own and others' strengths, and also reminded teachers and students to make use of compliments rather than criticism as the companions of the others. He also encouraged the catechumens to be humble in learning the truth of Jesus and answering His call.
